welcome to kevin lamonte photography

One of north dallas' premiere portrait photographers

When I decided to shoot my son's high school senior pictures on my in 2015, I was in my 10th year as a financial advisor and took pictures as a hobby. I had no plans on ever becoming a full-time professional photographer. Nope, I was just trying to save some money on what I thought were over-priced studio pictures being promoted by my son's high school. However, after sharing his images on social media, I received a number of requests to capture senior pictures for other parents. That first year, I shot seven seniors and eight family photo sessions. I loved it. I loved it so much, I choose to leave my profession and start a photography business.

Fast forward to 2021: I schedule approximately 100-120 sessions per year. I created a program working with aspiring photographers. I've been trusted with weddings, family reunions, birthdays, and a variety of community events. In addition, I schedule 2-3 family portraits, senior portraits, and/or headshots per week (primarily from referrals). I personally edit and retouch all of my client's images. And I turn their captured memories into treasured artwork such as framed portraits, canvas portraits, and custom designed albums. I've come a long way and I still love learning and sharing what I do. Photography isn't just my profession, it's my passion - a passion I hope to share with you.

What should you expect when booking a portrait session

pre-session consultation

After your initial request to book a session, you will receive a pre-session questionnaire prior to your consultation. The goal of the consultation is to find out exactly what you are looking for as a result and to make sure I can meet all of your expectation and requirements. From there, we will discuss and plan your session - everything from outfits to locations and more.

the portrait session

This is where we put your ideas and expectations into action. I'll bring all the necessary equipment and conduct the portrait session. The goal is to provide all of the images that you will want in order to be completely satisfied. I typically shoot about 35-40 images per hour. And I present the untouched raw proofs to my clients within 5-7 business days. If a faster turnaround is needed, just let me know.

the review & order session

After your session, you will receive an email with a link to review your unedited proofs. At this time, you will decide which images to purchase. After your selection, I will make all necessary edits, color corrections, and retouching. You have the option to order prints, framed wall art, canvas portraits, albums and other products. Orders are typically ready to pick up within 8-10 business days.
